YOUR NEW ALUMNI ON-LINE COMMUNITY
Introduction
"From 1968 it was possible for a medical student, from whichever side he or she started, to elect to graduate M.B.,Ch.B. (Dundee) or M.B.,Ch.B. (St Andrews). In 1968, two medicals elected to graduate from Dundee.
No graduate in July 1969 elected to take the Dundee degree - the whole year chose St Andrews. In December however, James D.K. Morton decided to graduate M.B, from Dundee. He was already a B.D.S. from St Andrews, and then and in later years gave as his reason the feeling that he was acting fairly towards the place where his entire Dental and Medical training had been carried out. "But if I had not had a St Andrews degree already" James Morton recalled, "I would certainly not have taken my medical one at Dundee". (1)
