The Wedding in Cana
St John's Gospel 1 1-11 (1)
God Is Love
1 John 4 7-12 (2)
1 Two days later there was a wedding in the town of Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there,
2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.
3 When the wine had given out, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no wine left."
4 "You must not tell me what to do,"¯ Jesus replied. "My time has not yet come."¯
5 Jesus' mother then told the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."¯
6 The Jews have rules about ritual washing, and for this purpose six stone water jars were there, each one large enough to hold about a hundred litres.
7 Jesus said to the servants, "Fill these jars with water."¯ They filled them to the brim,
8 and then he told them, "Now draw some water out and take it to the man in charge of the feast."¯ They took him the water,
9 which now had turned into wine, and he tasted it. He did not know where this wine had come from (but, of course, the servants who had drawn out the water knew); so he called the bridegroom
10 and said to him, "Everyone else serves the best wine first, and after the guests have had plenty to drink, he serves the ordinary wine. But you have kept the best wine until now!"
11 Jesus performed this first miracle in Cana in Galilee; there he revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Whoever loves is a child of God and knows God.
8 Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love.
9 And God showed his love for us by sending his only Son into the world, so that we might have life through him.
10 This is what love is: it is not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the means by which our sins are forgiven.
11 Dear friends, if this is how God loved us, then we should love one another.
12 No one has ever seen God, but if we love one another, God lives in union with us, and his love is made perfect in us.

The poem and the song

Happy Ever After
With all our love Jane, Andy and Ruby
Songbird
Christine McVie (3)
An evening down The Old Post Office is the start to our tale
Where Rob and Lindsey found a love that couldn’t fail
Rob’s so laid back Linz was on to a winner
And it was good for Rob to find someone he loves more than dinner!

In fact eating out is something they love the most
From a curry, to a pub lunch, to a Sunday roast
They also like the great outdoors, family, fun and friends
And when you’re in their company the laughter never ends

Lindsey loves shoes and bags and when she’s out shopping
Rob plugs in his X-box and doesn’t bother stopping
Munch and Crackers add to their blissful domestic life
Which will only be more blissful once they’re husband and wife

As godparents to our Ruby you are the perfect pair
She’s a very lucky girl indeed to have you both to share
Married life has ups and downs, fair and stormy weather
But Lindsey and Rob, side by side, will face them well together

So we wish you health and wealth and blessings from above
But most of all we wish you years of happiness and love
You have always made the most of life
And you’ll be at your best as husband and wife
Building a future full of love and laughter
And one thing’s sure there’s bound to be a happy ever after…
For you, there'll be no more crying,
For you, the sun will be shining,
And I feel that when I'm with you,
It's alright, I know it's right

To you, I'll give the world
To you, I'll never be cold
'Cause I feel that when I'm with you,
It's alright, I know it's right.

And the songbirds are singing,
Like they know the score,
And I love you, I love you, I love you,
Like never before.

And I wish you all the love in the world,
But most of all, I wish it from myself.

And the songbirds keep singing,
Like they know the score,
And I love you, I love you, I love you,
Like never before, like never before.
