Hello.
I came across your site while visiting the TNG Forum on extrapages. May I say, I am so impressed! The magazine theme of your site is very interesting and all the features! I am blown away. I want to study your site and perhaps adopt some of your ideas into my site. I may reach out for help, if that's ok.
Again - kudos sir! I salute your work and attention to detail.
-Mike

I notice that you have links to the Hopewell family via my uncle Valentine. I have all their dates if you would like them. Also my mother is missing from the family group!

What a fantastic site. Henry Curtis and Emily Jane Steer were my great great grandparents. And it's been wonderful finding this site and reading some of your articles. I've been rather clueless until reading this, so thank you so much for sharing these wonderful stories.

I am the granddaughter of Vera Rumbold Kemshead.
She was the daughter of Martha Elizabeth Kemshead & Thomas Rumbold (maybe W.L.Rumbold)
She was born on either Oct 31 or Nov 1, 1903.
I know that she was somehow brought to Canada and can't find how or when.
The information in this shows her mother going to south Africa and her sister going to grandparents but nothing about her.

I'm sure you are aware but I didn't spot a mention of the article by Philip F Rehbock, Joseph Matkin (1853-1927), Rutland's unsung voyager, in Rutland Record 12 (1992)70-79. Besides other detail of the Challenger expedition it includes a transcript of his long letter to 'Mother' from Hong Kong,19th December 1874.
Also, in Rutland County Museum there is a run of Matkins Almanacks from 1892 (missing the first ten or so issues) to 1941 (last one published). They are an invaluable local history resource.

Thank you very much for this comprehensive family tree. I think you have solved the mystery of Hannah Shooter which has been plaguing me for a while.
I would like to provide a bit of info about Louisa Hallam, who I knew when I was a child (she was very old). She moved to Canada with Sam and Edna, and died in Timmins, Ontario. She didn't have 4 children.

Hello The Craxfords!
I'm intrigued. Why is my family linked to yours? I have found mention of my father on your pages. William Curtis's brother Henry/Harry had a son, Nicholas who studied at Kings Canterbury and went on to become a very successful singer. He sang the Cornetto commercial for starters!! I LOVE that you mention him, and that his achievements have not been unnoticed.
What an amazing archive you have. Well done!!!!

This is a most impressive site, and what I find the most interesting is that someone took the time to create pages honoring those that have passed.
Well done
