What a fascinating website. I am descended from a Charles Anker born in 1822 and living in Longthorpe, Peterborough. He was married to Hannah Briggs and had a large family. Is he linked to this branch of the family? I would be very grateful if you could let me know! Thank you again, Jane Kennedy

My brother, Cliff Shardalow, told me about your site. Strange to see my mum and aunt, both passed away, on the pages. I shall read more about the Shardalow family.
I note that my mother-in-law's maiden name, Nosworthy also appears on here. What a coincidence.
Thanks for all your hard work.

Thanks for the introduction to your site Alan. I've spent more than I planned to reading it tonight for the first time....missing my beauty sleep!
I doubt that we have relatives in common but we certainly share villages (Gretton, Cottingham) Leicester, and the area around Fosse Road.
I'm sure that I'll keep coming back.
cheers
Tony

Thank you Alan, for helping me begin my quest to find long lost relatives! I look forward to making connections as I investigate my roots in England.
My father is from Bridlington, Yorkshire, UK. His mother was Lillian (Wilson) Robinson whose ancestors have been traced back to Alexander Hood (born 1773) and Ann Terry, who were married in 1796, in Ringwould, Kent. I'm interested in trying to trace them further. I'm also trying to get information about my father's father, Sydney Stuart Robinson, whose ancestry is pretty foggy. The only thing I can find out about him is that his father's name was Thomas as was his father before him.
I've recently become quite interested in my family tree and with the assistance of my cousin in England, I've stumbled across your amazing website. I would love to use it as well as contribute in some small part.
I find it amazing that even you and I are, in some way, related!!!!

Hello, I am the Great Grand-Daughter of John Leney Offenberg 1876-1957. Reading your website has been absolutely wonderful. I would like to thank-you so very much for all your information and hard work. This website has given me a real insight into my ancestors and ultimately helped me to put together my family tree. More than that, it’s enabled me to share your information with my own children and grandchildren.

My Dad, Robert Henderson, #427358, joined the 46th Btn in Moose Jaw in 1914, took training at Sewell Camp, then on to Valcartier, then to France to join the 16 BTN. On July 13/16 was blown 20 ft in the air, suffered shell shock, blindness and loss of hearing. These things all returned after 12 different hospitals. Was returned to Canada and spent a year in a convalescent home in Regina. Honorably discharged in 1918.

Surprised to see my grandfather Arthur Gibbens and his 1st wife, Harriet on this site. Would love to hear from anyone else related.
Many thanks,
Pamela
[Everyone in our database can show a (frequently somewhat tenuous) relationship with (almost) everyone else. Legacy's relationship calculator shows Arthur to be my 2nd cousin's wife's 2nd cousin twice removed's husband!! - Ed]
